Eve Bushman has over 20 years of wine ‘immersion’ experience from attending classes, commercial tastings, winery tours, winemaker interviews and wine studies. She received her Level 2 Intermediate Certification from Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) in November 2010, was the subject of a 30-minute interview on The Wine Down internet show, hosts wine events for non-profits and promotes the wine industry with daily content on her website. Her own wine dog, a Welsh Corgi named Tyson, is tasked with the job of barking at her when she attempts to unlock her cellar without her husband present. Cole Danehower is a James Beard Foundation Journalism Award-winning wine and food writer, author of the book Essential Wines and Wineries of the Pacific Northwest (Timber Press, 2010) and publisher of EssentialNorthwestWines.com. He is owned by Monty, an exceptionally intelligent and rambunctious Chow/Golden Retriever mix.
Kelly Davis is a general assignment reporter at WDRB in Louisville, Kentucky. She moved south after spending two years in Northern Michigan, reporting and anchoring for WWTV. She’s had the opportunity to meet a variety of people out in the field, including the creators of Wine Dogs, Craig and Sue. She loves her job because every day there’s a new story to uncover and an adventure that awaits.
Drew Dickson, owner and winemaker of Andrew Lane Winery, Napa Valley CA, has been bringing inky purple love to town since 1978 and was the co-author of the Environmental Grant which secured the only riparian block on the Napa River at The Oxbow.
Angela Downer Moench was born in Australia where she stayed until her early teens, then lived in London. For the past three decades has happily lived in the Texas Hill Country where she and her physician husband Howard have created and built Stone House Vineyard and Winery. Angela and Howard are ably assisted in all things oenophilic by Schopenhauer, their trusty beagle.
Greg Duncan Powell has been writing about wine and other drinks for most of his adult life. Currently he is drinks editor for MasterChef, playing guitar with ‘The Swinging Gonads’ and writing loads of books. Sue is an artist, award-winning graphic designer and one of the founding principals of Giant Dog publishing. When she is not travelling and enjoying a tipple at some of the world’s greatest wineries, she can be found coveting other people’s dogs at the local park.
Vailia Esh writes very little and has her own label, ‘Desparada’, that she makes at Herman Story’s winery in Paso Robles. Vailia co-parents Hank the German Shorthaired Pointer with Russell P. From, owner and winemaker of Herman Story Wines, who started his own label ten years ago at the young age of 26 (almost four in dog years). Russell and Vailia make their wines in an urban winery in downtown Paso Robles. Russell has been heard to say around the winery that the barrels don’t care they’re not in some fancy cave or a million dollar winery. They like being downtown. They’re closer to the pubs and restaurants…

Robert was born in Baltimore, Maryland and initially pursued a career in law. His interest in wine began in 1967 and it wasn’t long before Robert had started to carve out a spectacular career in wine writing that now spans over 28 years. He is the founder of The Wine Advocate and is the contributing editor for Food and Wine Magazine. He also periodically contributes to other magazines including The Field and France’s L’Express. He is the author of many best-selling and awarded wine books, including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Parker’s Wine Buyer’s Guide and The Wines of the Rhône Valley and Provence. Robert’s bulldog George won the coveted ‘Palme Dog’ prize at the Cannes film festival for best canine performance in a film for his cameo in the documentary Mondovino. www.erobertparker.com
Ben Spencer is a winemaker and writer. He holds a Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and another in Writing from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. He is the Assistant Winemaker at Bernardus Winery and the Winemaker/Owner of Leojami – both projects based in Carmel Valley, California. Ben’s articles have appeared in Barfly, Mutineer, CadillacCicatrix and at IntoWine.com. Ben is the Executive Editor at AmericanWineWriter.com. His dog Blu is adjusting well to life in Carmel Valley. Blu’s talents include high-fives, hugs, playing catch (with cookies), chasing butterflies, and herding cats. Blu turned six in May 2012.
